Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate sees out the V12 GT
Sportier new model will replace the ageing grand tourer next year
Aston Martin has unveiled its ultra-exclusive Vanquish S Ultimate, marking the end of production for the second-generation GT car.
The Ultimate edition comes in a selection of three colour schemes created especially for the final versions, along with carbon fibre strakes that come with gold Ultimate decals down each side of the car.
It also gets carbon fibre door sills fitted with a model-specific plaque and bespoke stitched seat quilting, while the Ultimate name is embroidered on the headrests.

Buyers can choose between three styles for their exclusive car.
First up, says Aston Martin, is a subtle “monochrome” design with black paintwork and “copper bronze” highlights around the air intakes and rear diffuser.
Next is a model that “takes inspiration from the look and materials used in technical sportswear”, adds the British carmaker, featuring “xenon grey paint” and “contrasting blue graphics.
The third version features white gold paintwork and bronze graphics, with black and carbon fibre highlights around the body, plus “Chestnut tan” leather seats.
Under the bonnet sits the same 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine as the standard Vanquish S, delivering 595bhp to the rear axle.
According to Auto Express, the Ultimate edition is expected to be the last new model to feature Aston Martin’s naturally aspirated V12 “stalwart”, as the company has moved over to AMG-developed twin-turbo engines in its other most recent cars.
A “harder, more sporting” new version of the Vanquish is tipped to arrive next year, says Autocar. This vehicle is expected to feature the company’s new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that appears in the DB11.
Orders for the Vanquish S Ultimate are open now, but Aston Martin are producing just 175 examples. Each model starts at £211,995, with delivers due next spring.
