A quote from former F1 driver and company founder Bruce McLaren is painted on the rear spoiler in Arabic, says Autocar, and reads: “Life is measured in achievement, not in years alone.”

MSO has also swapped out the car’s “front splitter, air intakes, rear bumper and roof with carbon-fibre units”, the magazine adds.

Inside, says Car magazine, the bespoke 720S gets more “splashes of gold” and carbon fibre, on the steering wheel and gear paddles, along with a plaque proclaiming the car to be just “1 of 1”.

In a further special touch, say Auto Express, the 720S gets 24-carat gold heat shielding in the engine bay - which could be a nod to the McLaren F1 supercar from the 1990s.

Power remains the same as the standard car, with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 710bhp and 568lb-ft of torque.

McLaren has not revealed the price of the one-off supercar, but it is expected to have cost significantly more than the base car’s £208,600 price tag.
