Two held after armed mannequin challenge

Two men taking part in the internet "mannequin challenge", in which people video themselves standing as still as possible, have been arrested in Alabama after the footage showed several people pointing weapons at each other. Kenneth Fennell White and Terry Brown were held for possession of marijuana and two handguns, an assault rifle and a shotgun. Several rounds of ammunition were also seized.

Rock-throwing orangutan causes $198,000 of damage

Staff at St Louis Zoo, in Missouri, have revealed that one of its biggest attractions has caused more than $198,000 (£157,000) worth of damage to her enclosure. Rubih, a 12-year-old orangutan, bangs on the glass with rocks and chunks of cement to "get attention when the keepers aren't around", they say. The zoo has had to replace the glass with bulletproof acrylic and strengthen the frames holding it in place.

Man dies of 'emotional distress' after being forced to clean toilet

A lawsuit filed in Florida claims a man died of "emotional distress" after being detained by staff at a pharmacy in Orlando and forced to clean the toilet. According to the suit, regular customer Fernando Elizarraras, 69, had used the toilet but staff "kept him captive" and forced him to mop it out because he had "made a mess".
