Novak Djokovic waltzed into the third round of the US Open and could not resist showing off his dance moves after a routine win against Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer.

The Serbian world number one still had plenty of energy left after the 6-4, 6-1,6-2 victory and during his post-match interview on Arthur Ashe court summoned one particularly vociferous fan from the stands for a dance. The pair ended their impromptu routine in 'I love NY' T-shirts.

He described the unnamed fan as a "true entertainer" and said: "I'm glad that he came down to the court. It was not planned... Each year I see him in one of my matches, dancing, taking down the layers of the t-shirts. But, you know, it never gets old."[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"content_original","fid":"84222","attributes":{"class":"media-image"}}]]

Anyone experiencing a sense of deja vu could be forgiven, and not just because Djokovic's moves were reminiscent of the Gangnam Style dance craze of 2012. The Serbian has a track record when it comes to getting down in public, and usually does so in a Gangnam style.

In 2013 he and Serene Williams danced to the tune at the Australian Open.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"content_original","fid":"84221","attributes":{"class":"media-image"}}]]

He also forced a reluctant Ana Ivanovic to join him on the dancefloor/court during at the Hopman Cup in 2013.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"content_original","fid":"84220","attributes":{"class":"media-image"}}]]

Djokovic appeared rather less enthusiastic and unsure of the steps when he was required to perform the routine with the ballgirls and boys after winning the China Open in 2012.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"content_original","fid":"84219","attributes":{"class":"media-image"}}]]

The Serb proved that he is no one-trick pony in early 2013, when he was persuaded to shake his stuff alongside a bellydancer to the accompaniment of the Macarana. But Djokovic is obviously a man who knows what he likes and, true to form, he ended the night dancing to Gangnam Style.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"content_original","fid":"84218","attributes":{"class":"media-image"}}]]

K-Pop, however, has no place at Wimbledon, and Djokovic appeared rather nonplussed at this year's Winners' Ball when he was forced to dance with Serena Williams to the Bee Gees.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"content_original","fid":"84217","attributes":{"class":"media-image"}}]]
