Stanway: we’re here to win

After England finished top of group D with three wins out of three Georgia Stanway declared that the Lionesses have their eyes on the silverware.

The 20-year-old Manchester City star told Goal.com: “We came here wanting to get the nine points and wanting to win the three games because that gives us the momentum to progress from there.

“That’s important for us and now we’ve come top, nothing changes. We’re still eyes on silverware and we’ll do what we can to lift the trophy at the end.

“We’re not afraid to say that because what’s the point in coming to a major tournament and not saying that you want to win?”

With England now set to play Cameroon on Sunday Stanway urged her team-mates to show their creativity in the last-16 clash.

“We’d hope that they fear us,” she said. “We’d hope that nobody wants to play England. We’re just excited to showcase what we can do.

“We’ve got the confidence to do it. We’ve got the freedom to do it. We’re just going to go out there and showcase our creativity.”
