More than six million people have signed up for health insurance plans before the March 31 deadline set by the Affordable Care Act, the White House triumphantly proclaimed on Thursday. Although the number of new enrollees is one million short of the administration's goal, it still signals a turnaround from ObamaCare's botched October debut, when Healthcare.gov failed to load for many users.

The six million milestone, which meets the Congressional Budget Office's enrollment estimate released last month, should quell any remaining fears that ObamaCare lacks enough participants for the system to work.
