Tamir Rice's mom calls for officer conviction in Cleveland shooting

The mother of Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old who was shot and killed by a Cleveland police officer last month while playing with a toy gun, spoke publicly for the first time Monday.
"I'm actually looking for a conviction," Samiria Rice said. Her family also filed a wrongful death lawsuit last week.
Rice also described seeing her daughter, 14, arrested after the shooting, USA Today reports. "She told me that the police tackled her and put her in handcuffs," she said. "I didn't even know she was in handcuffs. I knew she was crying for me, but I couldn't see her hands. This is what she told me, that she was in handcuffs in the back of the car. They also questioned her with no adult around." --Julie Kliegman
