The New York motor show is on from 23 March and despite being a North American event, many launches hold relevance here in the UK, too.
So far, a handful of manufacturers have revealed or hinted at what new metal they will be bringing to the show.

Mazda MX5 Coupe
Mazda hasn't yet confirmed exactly what it is bringing to New York, but Autocar reckons the world premiere the company is planning is for a hard-top version of its MX5 sports car, possibly called the Roadster Coupe.
"The Mk4 MX-5 has been with us in soft-top guise for about a year, so it makes sense for the hard-top alternative to arrive now," says the magazine, adding that 80 per cent of Mk3 MX5 sales in the UK were the hard-top version. Prices should start from a little more than £20,000.
Mercedes-AMG E43
The third in Mercedes-Benz's AMG line-up wearing a "43" badge will make its global debut in Manhattan.
The AMG E43 is the first hot version of the tech-heavy new E-Class and rivals the Audi S5 and BMW 550. Under the bonnet is a twin-turbocharged V6 with 395bhp, mated to a nine-speed gearbox driving all four wheels through Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel drive system. It does 0-62mph in 4.6secs and top speed is limited to 155mph. It will likely be priced north of £50,000 when it goes on sale later this year.
Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift
Mercedes will also bring along a facelifted version of its small CLA saloon, including an AMG fettled version. It's set to gain a new radiator grille, re-profiled bumpers, including a newly modelled rear end incorporating the exhausts into the bumper, some interior revisions with a new eight-inch touchscreen and a few mechanical tweaks, too.
At the bottom of the range is a "new efficiency hero model", says Car Magazine. The CLA 180d BlueEfficiency will use a 108bhp engine and will develop just 89g/km of CO2.
However, the range-topper is more powerful. The Mercedes-AMG CLA45 4Matic gets an ECU re-map alongside other engine upgrades for a power output of 376bhp, with 0-62mph in 4.2secs and a top speed limited to 155mph.
Mini Clubman All4
The all-wheel drive version of Mini's Clubman will be on display in New York.
Previously, the only Mini available with an all-wheel drive system was the countryman crossover, but now the VW Golf rival will be available with the drivetrain – but only on models badged as Cooper S and Cooper SD. Prices will start from £24,305 and it goes on sale in April.
Mini John Cooper Works Convertible
A second new Mini will be on the stands in the form of the John Cooper Works (JCW) fettled convertible. It gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 228bhp for 0-62mph in 6.6secs and a top speed of 150mph. There are also a range of styling tweaks exclusive for JCW models.
Prices will start at £26,630.
Nissan GT-R facelift
Nissan has teased an updated version of its GT-R halo car via social media with a shadowy picture of the rear, strongly hinting that the next incarnation will be with us soon.
According to Autocar, insiders say this will be the final facelift, with a few styling tweaks and mechanical upgrades before the new car comes along later this decade, possibly in 2018.
If true, this version could come with a little more power – the 3.5-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 may get a power hike over the current car's 542bhp.
Subaru Impreza
Subaru has confirmed the debut of all new Impreza before a launch later this year.
The company says it will be "the first of Subaru's next-generation strategic vehicles envisioned in [owner Fuji Heavy Industries'] mid-term management vision 'Prominence 2020'" – meaning the car will introduce new engines and tech before they are seen on other Subaru models, such as the next Forester.
Auto Express says the Impreza will retain its trademark flat-four "boxer" engine line-up as well as all-wheel drive across the range. Prices should start around £17,500.
Toyota GT86 Facelift
Toyota has revealed plans to give its GT86 sports car a makeover and the new version is set for a reveal in New York before going on sale later this year.
The update package gives the vehicle a much more aggressive face. At the front, the grille has been enlarged and sits within a new bumper, while there are revised fog light housings and LED lights. It sits on an updated alloy wheel design, too.
Inside, there's Alcantara and leather upholstery, silver stitching on the seats and a new steering wheel design with audio controls.
There's a fresh suspension setup, too, but according to Auto Express, there's no word on whether the new GT86 will get a power hike over the 197bhp its 2.0-litre boxer engine currently chucks out. The £22,700 price tag should remain in place.
Toyota Prius Plug-in
A teasing message on Toyota's official Twitter account has led to expectations that the company will introduce a plug-in hybrid version of its Prius.
According to Auto Express, the car should feature "slightly different visual treatment" over the regular version but will use the same electric motor, only mated to a larger battery. There's very few details, but expect it to slip under the 40g/km CO2 barrier and have a price tag of £28,000 when it goes on sale towards the end of the year.
