Donald Trump on…
Global warming
The 45th President of the US has made his views on climate change very clear in recent years. "It's freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming," he tweeted during the winter of 2012. He took it even further in 2015, saying: "This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING b******* has got to stop. Our planet is freezing." On another occasion, he insinuated that global warming was a hoax perpetrated by China to make the US less competitive.

Nor has he held back on renewable energy. "Wind is destroying the environment in many, many places," he told Fox News. "People are going crazy over the horrible, noisy, disgusting windmills and they are horrible and a horrible intrusion, ruining communities, and solar is weak and has not been effective and is very, very expensive."
Trump appears to be carrying this scepticism into his adminstration. His cabinet pick to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt famously remains unconvinced that human activity is a "primary contributor" to climate change, and has also vowed to dismantle many of President Obama's environmental regulations.
