In November 2015, Trump came under fire for mocking New York Times journalist Serge Kovaleski, who has born with a joint condition that affects the movement of the his arms. "Now the poor guy, you gotta see this guy," said the billionaire, flailing his arms at his chest in an apparent imitation of the reporter. Reacting to the incident, Kovaleski said: "The sad part is, it didn't in the slightest bit jar or surprise me that Trump would do something this low-rent, given his track record."

However, the journalist pointed out that they had met a dozen times and had been "on a first-name basis for years".
