DrivingElectric.com: a new guide to electric cars
From the parent company of The Week comes a no-nonsense website dedicated to electric car reviews and advice

The Week’s parent company, Dennis Publishing, has today launched a website giving car buyers the information they need to buy electric vehicles with confidence.
DrivingElectric.com will present comprehensive reviews of new models, ranging from the Volkswagen e-Golf to the Range Rover PHEV, as well as authoritative advice about buying and running hybrid and electric cars.
Developed by the people behind established automotive titles Auto Express and Carbuyer, the new site will extend their no-nonsense, jargon-free coverage to the exciting - but sometimes baffling - field of battery-powered vehicles.
“We believe the electric vehicle market in the UK is on the cusp of a breakthrough, if only consumers can easily find the right information to help their car-purchase decision making,” said Steve Fowler, editor-in-chief of DrivingElectric.com.
“Motorists have so far been bombarded with a confusing mix of negative stories or enthusiastic noise and hype when they really need clear, impartial, understandable information to help them make sensible choices. DrivingElectric.com is designed to provide a single source for that.”
Questions answered at launch include “will electric vehicles lose their value?” and “how much does an electric car cost to run?”. Readers can email in questions of their own to hello@drivingelectric.com.
Independent experts will provide unbiased advice - including guidance away from electric vehicles where more traditional fuels remain the best option. But the editor-in-chief expects that clearer information will lead more people to consider electric power.
Citing a survey which found “untapped consumer excitement about electric vehicles”, Fowler said he was “confident that DrivingElectric.com will convert many people from cautiously interested into confident adopters”.
He added: “This is a market poised for a breakthrough and we aim to help the industry achieve that.”
