More than 200 sheep have died after a livestock lorry overturned in Dumfries and Galloway, in the south of Scotland.
Police were called out to the A76 near Enterkinfoot last night after reports that a Wm Armstrong livestock haulage vehicle was on its side in a field, the BBC reports.
“The Longtown-based firm's Scania HGV... was the only vehicle involved in the collision at 10.50pm last night,” says the Cumbrian News and Star.

The driver sustained minor injuries in the accident, but the impact on the animals inside the vehicle was far more severe.
According to a tweet from Nithsdale Police, 220 of the 440 sheep on board were killed.
“The road was thereafter closed for investigation and clean-up works to take place,” STV reports. It reopened at around 5.30am today.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
