Arsenal transfer news: Theo Walcott set to be unveiled as an Everton player
Gunners still in talks for Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bordeaux winger Malcom
Theo Walcott has passed his Everton medical and will be officially unveiled as a Toffee today, claims the Daily Mail.
The paper says that the “deal could rise to £25 million”, with Arsenal happy to get rid of their inconsistent England star.
Walcott, who arrived at the Emirates from Southampton in 2006, was driven to Everton’s training ground for his medical yesterday and the Mail says he could be included in their squad for Saturday’s Premier League game at home to West Bromwich Albion.

It’s understood that the winger has agreed an “attractive financial package”, in excess of £110,000 a week, with Everton boss Sam Allardyce keen to use Walcott’s pace in tandem with Yannick Bolasie and Cenk Tosun.
According to the Daily Telegraph Wenger personally sanctioned the deal in recognition of Walcott’s long service and the fact he is no longer a regular in the Arsenal starting line-up.
The paper adds that “a return to Southampton would have been easier for Walcott and his family”, but the player himself believes a move to Goodison Park gives him the best chance of making England’s World Cup squad.
One consequence of Walcott’s departure, says the Daily Mirror, is that Besiktas won’t now be getting their hands on Danny Welbeck.
The Turkish outfit had hoped to sign him on loan, to replace Tosun, but the Mirror says that the Gunners “have been forced to put their foot down and reject the proposal”.
The Mail says that Arsenal are still in talks with Borussia Dortmund and Bordeaux about the possibility of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Malcom, but according to The Sun they face a challenge from Liverpool for the latter.
The paper says that Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec has hinted that his Brazilian winger could make the move to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to spend some of the £142m he made last week from selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
“If Liverpool want you to work for them tomorrow, you’d go,” Gourvennec told a press conference, when asked about the Reds rumours.
The 20-year-old Malcom was linked with Arsenal recently but it’s claimed in the French press that he is reluctant to join a club that can’t guarantee him Champions League football.
But The Sun wonders if Gourvennec’s comments aren’t simply an attempt to “help Bordeaux drive their price up”, with suggestions that they are holding out for more than the £45m Arsenal are ready to pay.
