Man U reject £34m Vidal fee, Arsenal snub Khedira demands
Premier League big guns put off by the demands of World Cup stars and their current clubs
Manchester United may have signed a mammoth new kit deal with Adidas, but that doesn't mean they are prepared to spend over the odds on new recruits this summer.
The Daily Mirror reports that, despite the massive windfall, United will not "be held to ransom by Juventus" in their pursuit of Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Juventus are demanding £34m for the tough tackling midfield general, even though he arrived in Turin for just £8.5m in 2011. The 27-year-old, one of the stars of the World Cup, has hinted he is open to a move to United but the north-west side club has balked at the Italian's asking price for the star.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have also turned their noses up at a financial demand – in this case the wages that Sami Khedira would expect for a move to the Emirates.
Goal reports that Arsene Wenger wants to make the German star his second big signing of the summer but could be scared off by the Real Madrid midfielder's reported demand of £150,000-a-week before bonuses. Such a fee would make him the highest player at Arsenal – above even Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Rio Ferdinand may have looked as if he was auditioning for a job in EasyJet orange during the World Cup final but it will be the blue and white of QPR he will turn out in next season according to reports this morning.
The centre-back, released from Manchester United last month, has finally reached agreement with the Harry Redknapp over wages after weeks of negotiation, says the Daily Mail. Redknapp hopes the 35-year-old's experience will bring stability to the Loftus Road side on and off the pitch.
Will Edinson Cavani move to the Premier League this summer? The Uruguayan international, who joined PSG from Napoli last year, is reportedly keen to move to England and has told his agent to sound out clubs.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea and Manchester United lead the way in interest for the hit-man, though he will not come cheap: PSG were forced to splash £55m for his services last summer. Cavani hinted he is ready for a move during the World Cup, saying: "One day you are in one team and, the next day, you can be in another."
Marco Reus could soon prove Cavani's imaginative maxim true. The Daily Express claims that Liverpool are poised to launch a £45m move for Reus after Barcelona's purchase of Luis Suarez scuppered his move from Borussia Dortmund to Spain. But when one door closes another opens and the financial knock-on of Suarez's move could enable Liverpool to fund a move for the German.
Whether they will or not remains a moot point. Metro claims Liverpool are "baffled" by reports linking them to the German midfielder.
