Metro reports that “Konta roars on” after staging a brilliant fightback. The Daily Mail says the 28-year-old is “JK rolling” into the last eight.
In today’s women’s singles quarter-final 19th seed Konta plays Barbora Strycova in the second match on Centre Court.
Barefoot healing for the Aussies
Australia face England in the Cricket World Cup semi-final on Thursday and as part of their preparation for the big match the players got a feel for the surface at Edgbaston.
Walking around the outfield the Aussies went “barefoot to harness energy” of the Birmingham ground, The Times reports.
Led by “hippie” coach Justin Langer, the squad “gathered in a circle and told each other personal stories, shoes and socks still removed”.
