1. Andy Murray wins gold on historic day for Team GB
Andy Murray won Team GB's 15th Rio Olympics gold medal last night, beating Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro to retain the men's tennis title on what was a record-breaking day for the UK, with five golds and three silvers to the tally. It was Team GB's most successful single day at an Olympics where they were not the host nation.

2. Usain Bolt makes history with 100m Olympic win
Jamaica's Usain Bolt yesterday became the first athlete to win gold in the men's 100m Olympic race three times. Bolt appeared to be in trouble with a slow start but powered past the US's Justin Gatlin in the last 30m to finish in 9.81secs. He is hoping to win golds in the 200m and 4x100m relay, also for the third time.

3. Owen Smith: Tories want to privatise the NHS
Labour leadership challenger Owen Smith will today accuse the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, of "covering up" the true extent of private sector involvement in the state healthcare system, saying the Tories want to privatise the NHS in "secret". The Pontypridd MP will also claim new figures show 7.6% of the budget is now spent in the private sector.
4. Former footballer Dalian Atkinson dies after being Tased
Former Aston Villa striker Dalian Atkinson has died after he was Tasered by police called to a disturbance outside his father's house in Telford inthe early hours of Monday. The 48-year-old collapsed after being Tasered and was declared dead at around 3am. Neighbours said Atkinson had been trying to force his way into the house and was shouting about being homeless.

5. JFK airport back to normal after reports of shots
Police have given the all-clear at JFK airport in New York after unfounded reports of shots being fired in the departures area led to terminals one and eight being evacuated. Officials said the alarm was sparked by a woman coming off a plane who may have been confused by loud cheering and banging by people watching the Olympics.

6. Burkinis banned in Corsica after brawl
A village mayor in Corsica has banned "burkinis", full bodied swimsuits often worn by Muslim women, after five people were hospitalised in a beach brawl between North African families and local youths. 7. Hong Kong protest leaders escape jail
Three leaders of the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong have escaped jail sentences after being tried for their parts in the mass rallies of 2014. Joshua Wong was given 80 hours of community service while Alex Chow received 120 hours and and Nathan Law was given a three-week suspended jail term.
8. Internet pornography 'damaging men's health'
Internet pornography is damaging young men's health, a prominent psychosexual therapist has told the BBC. Angela Gregory says an addiction to explicit material is leading young men to suffer from erectile dysfunction, a condition that in the past was usually reported by older men.
9. 'Zombie' knife ban comes into force
A ban on selling or manufacturing so-called "zombie" knives comes into force in England and Wales this week, with ministers saying it will help "keep communities safe". The knives, with names such as "head splitter" or "zombie killer" , can be found on the internet for as little as £8.
What are zombie knives – and why are they being banned?
10. Briefing: How will the current account revolution affect you?
This week the Competition & Markets Authority announced a range of
measures intended to make the current account market more competitive.
At present just three per cent of us switch bank each year, despite
the fact we probably aren’t getting a good deal thanks to sky-high
overdraft charges and meagre interest rates. The CMA wants to shake up
the market so that we are all more incentivised to abandon banks that
treat us badly and seek out better deals.
