1. Kanye West dropped a new album on Christmas

For once, Christmas came right on time for Kanye West fans. Over the years, the rapper has earned a reputation for flaking on release dates — but the new album from his Sunday Service choir, titled Jesus is Born, dropped right on cue on Christmas Day. The 19-track album kicks off with a song called "Count Your Blessings," which should be pretty easy for anyone who can't believe they're getting a new Kanye album on the date he originally promised.

2. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are apparently 'flirtatious at times'

Early-aughts nostalgia is in full swing, which is probably why so many people seem so hopeful for the slightest hint that newly single Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, who split up back in 2005, might be getting back together. A source has stoked the flames by revealing that Pitt and Aniston, who have remained friendly, have "a wonderful connection that might seem flirtatious at times." Alas, the source went on to add that both Pitt and Aniston say things are "purely platonic and nothing more than that," so you can probably keep your old "Team Aniston" sweater in the attic for now.

3. James Corden hasn't seen Cats but heard it's 'terrible'

Late-night host James Corden appears, bewhiskered, as the dandyish Bustopher Jones in the big-screen adaptation of Cats. But before you start lobbying for Corden to take home a Best Actor Oscar, you might want to listen to Corden himself, who revealed that he's heard the movie is "terrible." Corden added that he hasn't even seen Cats yet — which, to be fair, makes him just like everybody else.

4. FX is prepping a Carrie TV series

More than 40 years after its publication, Stephen King's Carrie remains a well-regarded horror classic. And if you're in Hollywood, you know what that means: "How much money can we squeeze out of it?" So get ready for a limited TV series adaptation of Carrie, which is currently being developed at FX — not to be confused with the 1976 movie, or the 1999 sequel, the 2002 TV movie, or the big-screen adaptation that hit theaters just six years ago.

5. Martin Scorsese's daughter wrapped his gifts in superhero paper

Christmas is the time of year when families get together to good-naturedly troll each other — and you can't do much better than Martin Scorsese's daughter Francesca, who wrapped her dad's Christmas presents in wrapping paper adorned with Marvel characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and the Incredible Hulk. Earlier this year, the director earned the ire of fans when he declared that Marvel's popular superhero blockbusters are "not cinema" — which probably means Scorsese's own hero the Irishman won't be joining the Avengers anytime soon.
