2020-21 Champions League draw: groups and key dates

Uefa has made the draw for the group stages of the 2020-21 Champions League.

The draw held at Uefa’s HQ - the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland - had a number of caveats. Each of the eight groups contained one team from each pot and no teams from the same country could be drawn together.

Group G is the standout draw with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus facing Lionel Messi’s Barcelona. Juve and Barca are grouped with Dynamo Kiev and Ferencvaros.

Defending champions Bayern Munich, who won all 11 matches last season, are in group A with Atletico Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg, Lokomotiv Moscow.

Premier League champions Liverpool are in group D with Ajax, Atalanta and Midtjylland. Frank Lampard’s Chelsea joined Europa League winners Sevilla, Krasnodar and Rennes in group E.

Manchester City, Porto, Olympiakos and Marseille are in group C while Manchester United are with Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir in group H.

Matchday one of the group stage is on 20-21 October and all matches will be live on BT Sport.

When is the 2021 Champions League final?

The 2021 final will take place on Saturday 29 May and will be held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
