Kieran Tierney is flavour of the month among the Premier League big boys with The Sun claiming that Manchester United and Tottenham are both eyeing up the Celtic left-back.

Despite his tender age, Tierney has already racked up 90 senior appearances, including 22 in European competitions, and United boss Jose Mourinho sees the Scot as a long-term fixture in the back four.

With Luke Shaw’s days at United believed to be numbered, Tierney would be a sensible acquisition for Mourinho, although he's likely to face stiff competition from Spurs gaffer Mauricio Pochettino.

Metro reports that the 22-year-old Shaw “fears his time at Old Trafford is all but over due to his on-going feud” with Mourinho.

Given that he’s only played twice this season, Shaw may be right but the fact he’s in the last year of his contract means he can at least escape his unenviable predicament.

As for Pochettino, he’s reportedly gone cold on Danny Rose and wants to bring Tierney to north London as soon as possible and it’s been claimed that Tottenham had their scouts at Bayern Munich last week to see how the youngster got in the Champions League fixture.

Standing in his way is Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic manager, who has said in the past he has no intention of offloading the defensive dynamo. A bid in excess of £25million might weaken the resolve of the Scottish champions with the Bhoys prepared to sell if the price is right.
