Hamilton wishes May well

Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has praised Theresa May after the former prime minister left 10 Downing Street on Wednesday.

May has been replaced by Boris Johnson as the PM and the leader of the Conservative Party. While she was making her leaving speech Mercedes driver Hamilton wished her well with a post on Instagram.

Hamilton said: “This women [sic] put up with so much s**t from everyone and remains graceful as she exits.

“Whether you think she was good or not, still got to say she’s had balls of steal [sic] to handle the crap thrown at her. Wish her all the best.”

The Daily Express reports that Hamilton later corrected his mistake. Adding a thumbs-up emoji, he said: “Balls of steel.”

Last week during Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons May congratulated Hamilton for his victory at the British Grand Prix.

Leclerc ‘can’t wait’ to battle Verstappen

At the British and Austrian grands prix a major highlight of both races was the on-track battles between Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

Speaking to the BBC ahead of this weekend’s German GP, Leclerc said he was excited by the future duels against his fellow 21-year-old.

“We had some very good fights in karting that didn’t always end in a good manner, but it was fun, good times,” said Leclerc.

“And I can’t wait to have more with him. In the end, we have done most of our career together, so it is fun to find ourselves again here in Formula 1.”

Merc and Ferrari to appear in Netflix series

Mercedes and Ferrari were not part of the Formula 1: Drive to Survive first series on Netflix, but it has been confirmed all ten teams will appear in season two when it is released next year.
