Tour members who have finished in the top 125 of the regular-season FedExCup standings will qualify for the first of three play-off events: The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club from 8-11 August.
After The Northern Trust has finished the top 70 in the standings will then progress to the BMW Championship from 15-18 August at Medinah Country Club.

The final play-off event, the Tour Championship, will then see the top 30 players in the standings go head-to-head for the FedExCup title and the $15m (£12.3m) winners’ prize.
After the conclusion of the regular season world No.1 Brooks Koepka leads the standings with 2,887 points from 18 PGA Tour events. He is 572 points ahead of Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy and 574 ahead of fellow American Matt Kuchar.
Other notable names in the top 125 include last year’s FedExCup champion Justin Rose, The Open champion Shane Lowry and Masters winner Tiger Woods.
Players who failed to finish in the top 125 included Alex Noren, Martin Kaymer, Zach Johnson and Jimmy Walker.

This year the FedExCup play-offs will have three tournaments instead of four. The top 125 golfers from the standings qualify for The Northern Trust, with the top 70 then progressing to the BMW Championship. The final event, the Tour Championship, will see the top 30 players go head-to-head for the title.

Simplified Tour Championship
A major change to the play-off format will see the winner of the Tour Championship crowned the FedExCup champion. This winner-takes-all format will make the Tour Championship easier to follow says the PGA Tour’s commissioner Jay Monahan.
“Win the Tour Championship and you are the FedExCup champion,” said Monahan. “It’s that simple.”
How the scoring works
The FedExCup Starting Strokes scoring format will be implemented at the 2019 Tour Championship. A strokes-based bonus system related to the FedExCup standings, players will start the opening round with scores between 10 under to even par.
According to PGATour.com: “The FedExCup points leader after the first two play-off events will begin the Tour Championship at 10-under par. The No.2 player will start at 8 under. The No.3 player starts at 7under; the No. 4 player starts at 6 under; the No. 5 player starts at 5 under.
“Players 6-10 start at 4-under; players 11-15 start at 3-under; players 16-20 start at 2-under; players 21-25 start at 1-under; and players 26-30 start at even par.
“At the Tour Championship, the player with the lowest aggregate score over 72 holes when combined with his FedExCup Starting Strokes will win the Tour Championship and also be crowned FedExCup champion.
“The Tour Championship win will be considered an official victory and the FedExCup champion will also earn a bonus of $15m and a five-year PGA Tour exemption.”
