iPhone X pre-orders: how to get yours on release day
Apple website has sold out but other retailers can deliver in time for next week’s launch
Pre-orders for Apple’s range-topping iPhone X have finally opened, but only a select few who ordered through the firm’s website will get the exclusive handset when it officially launches on 3 November.
According to the Daily Express, the tech giant only allocated a small number of the new £1,000 smartphones for next Friday’s launch - which sold out within minutes after pre-orders went live this morning.
Apple says iPhone Xs will be on sale in its stores next Friday, but with demand expected to be high, customers “are encouraged to arrive early”.

A host of other stores outlets in the UK will also be stocking the smartphone on its launch date.
Three is among the cheapest places to get hold of an X, with prices starting at £61 a month on a 24-month contract with 12GB of mobile data, unlimited calls and texts, and with an upfront cost of £249 for a 64GB model.
EE is offering a 64GB model with 100GB of mobile data for £82.99 a month, on a 24-month contract, with an upfront cost of £9.99.
You can also pre-order at Vodafone, where the cheapest deal costs £56 a month on a 24-month period, with an upfront cost of £300. Again, this includes unlimited calls and texts, but mobile data is capped at just 1GB per month.
Carphone Warehouse is a good option for a SIM-only deal. Prices match those in the Apple Store, so 64GB models come in at £999, while 246GB handsets start at £1,149.
Pre-orders have also opened at O2, but the retailer quotes a delivery date of “up to three weeks”.
