The boyfriend of late Love Island star Sophie Gradon has reportedly been found dead at his Northumberland home.

Aaron Armstrong’s death comes less than three weeks after he reportedly discovered 32-year-old Gradon's body at her parents’ address in Ponteland, says The Guardian.

On Monday, Armstrong, 25, posted an emotional tribute to his late girlfriend on Instagram, saying that “not a minute goes by without your gorgeous smile being a picture in my mind” and “i love you princess”. He was found dead the following day.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At around 12.20pm, police received a report from the ambulance service that a 25-year-old man had been found deceased at a property on Furnace Road in Bebside, Blyth. There is not believed to be any third party involvement and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.”

Gradon, the winner of the 2009 Miss Great Britain contest, made history on Love Island in 2016 as one half of the show’s first same-sex couple, after she “coupled up” with fellow contestant Katie Salmon.

Following her death, on 20 June, police said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. An inquest was subsequently opened and adjourned.

Armstrong confirmed the initial reports of her death on his Facebook page, posting a photo of them together, with the caption: “I will never forget that smile I love you so so much baby your my world forever ever and always.”

In a statement to the Press Association last month, Gradon’s parents said: “It has been one week since we lost our precious daughter and we as a family are still coming to terms with our sudden loss. Our hearts are broken. We wish to say our goodbyes to Sophie in private so we ask that you respect our family’s privacy during this arduous time.”
