Manchester United switch focus to £50m Monaco star Fabinho
Jose Mourinho prepares a move for Brazilian midfielder as keeper Jack Butland makes eyes at United
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is still looking for a big-name signing as the start of the new season creeps ever closer, but according to Italian rag Corriere dello Sport he may have found his man.
In comments carried by Italian outlet Calciomercato, the United gaffer is apparently tailing Monaco midfielder Fabinho. In recent days all the transfer talk has centred on Kylian Mbappe and Thomas Lemar but it seems that Mourinho's main target is the Brazilian playmaker. The Italian press reports that Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain had been tracking the South American in recent weeks but United "are now ready to make Monaco a €50m offer" that they hope they can't refuse.
It's believed that Monaco are refusing to countenance a move to PSG because they're their main rivals in the French league but they are open to approaches from England and Italy.

Meanwhile, Metro says Jack Butland has been making eyes at United.
The Stoke and England goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Old Trafford on more than one occasion and it seems the 24-year-old would jump at the chance to play for United. "If it's the right move at the time, you never know," said Butland, when asked about the rumours. "United, for me, are the biggest club in the world. I want to play in the Champions League and I want to win trophies."
With David de Gea continuing to be linked with a return to Spain and a slot between the sticks for Real Madrid, Butland's arrival wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility, particularly as Mourinho is "known to be an admirer" of the Stoke gloveman.
