And other stories from the stranger side of life

While in other ways less than perfect, 2020 has been a “vintage” year for Loch Ness sightings, says the keeper of the Official Loch Ness Sightings Register. Boy holds rave in school toilets
A boy of 12 has held a rave in his school’s toilet. Cael Bell promoted the event on Snapchat, inviting “all year 8 boys” at St Antony's Catholic College in Urmston, Greater Manchester to have it large with him. He promised everyone attending would be given a Cadbury Twirl and bottle of Lucozade. However, the event lasted only 30 minutes before it was shut down by teachers.

Lottery winner was only meeting card minimum
A woman who won a lottery prize of 10,000 Australian dollars (£5,600) said she only bought the ticket so she could meet the minimum purchase total to use a payment card. The woman, from Queensland, Australia, said she needed to spend $5 more to meet this minimum and chose the ticket with an animal on it because she’s a vet. She says the winning was a “blessing before Christmas”.
