Expert hails ‘vintage year’ for Loch Ness sightings

While in other ways less than perfect, 2020 has been a “vintage” year for Loch Ness sightings, says the keeper of the Official Loch Ness Sightings Register. Gary Campbell said that when Nessie was spotted near Urquhart Castle by Karen Scott and her partner when they were visiting from Aberdeen on 24 November, it was the 12th accepted sighting this year.

Boy holds rave in school toilets

A boy of 12 has held a rave in his school’s toilet. Cael Bell promoted the event on Snapchat, inviting “all year 8 boys” at St Antony's Catholic College in Urmston, Greater Manchester to have it large with him. He promised everyone attending would be given a Cadbury Twirl and bottle of Lucozade. However, the event lasted only 30 minutes before it was shut down by teachers.

Lottery winner was only meeting card minimum

A woman who won a lottery prize of 10,000 Australian dollars (£5,600) said she only bought the ticket so she could meet the minimum purchase total to use a payment card. The woman, from Queensland, Australia, said she needed to spend $5 more to meet this minimum and chose the ticket with an animal on it because she’s a vet. She says the winning was a “blessing before Christmas”.
