‘Never used’: Postman Pat ‘lovedoll’ goes on sale

A person in Liverpool is selling a “lovedoll” of Ted from the children’s television show Postman Pat. In the listing on Facebook, they explain: “I ordered this by mistake, I was meant to order Postman Pat but they sent me Ted.” The character, a Yorkshire-born handyman and one of Pat’s closest friends, is on sale for £250 and described as “brand new never used”.

Villagers scare off monkeys with bear costumes

Villagers have dressed up as bears to scare away the thousands of wild monkeys that have been terrorising them. Residents in Sikandarpur village, northern India, dressed up after the forest department ignored their pleas for help, according to local media. They have already reported a drastic dip in monkey attacks as a result.

Tate slammed for £40,000 head-of-coffee job

Tate Britain is under fire after it advertised for a head of coffee with a salary of nearly £40,000, more than the average wage of a London-based curator. “The pay discrepancy highlighted is a stark reminder, not that the head of coffee is paid too much but that highly qualified museum professionals are paid far too little,” said Alan Leighton, national secretary of the Prospect union. The gallery defended the salary, saying it was unfair to compare a head of department with a curatorial role of a different level.
