Two Canadians have been killed after a vehicle struck a 220kg black bear at high speed, sending it flying through the windscreen of an
oncoming vehicle. The 25-year-old woman and 40-year-old man were reportedly killed instantly. The bear did not survive what police have called a “freak accident”.

Man too drunk to realise he had been shot
A 19-year-old Chicago man has told police he was too drunk to realise he had been shot in the chest the night before. According to the police report, he was shot at around 11.30pm on Monday night, and did not attend hospital until the following morning.
