The Daily Mail reports that United have opened talks with the Italian champions over an £85m deal for the Argentine international.
Pogba wants out
Paul Pogba is determined to leave Old Trafford and will push for a move this summer. The midfielder is being linked with Real Madrid but according to reports, his departure will hinge on United “dramatically lowering their £160m valuation”. (The Daily Telegraph)
Martial to leave?
The Sun reports that Solskjaer will listen to offers for Anthony Martial, because of the French forward’s poor attitude in training. The Daily Mail says that Martial faces a fight to convince Solskjaer that he has a future at Old Trafford.
De Ligt rejects United
Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has snubbed Manchester United’s interest, after the Red Devils bid a reported £60m for the 19-year-old Dutch international. Barcelona are favourites to sign de Ligt. (Daily Star)
Reds join Neres race
Forward David Neres is another Ajax star in demand. The Brazilian, 22, has been linked with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal but according to reports, Liverpool have now joined the race. (The Sun)
North London rivals fancy Van de Beek
Tottenham have joined north London rivals Arsenal in the battle to sign Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek. The 22-year-old scored for Ajax against Spurs in the Champions League semi-final first leg last week. (The Sun)
City close in on Fernandes
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes is on the verge of a move to Manchester City. The two clubs are discussing a fee of between £50m and £60m for the 24-year-old Portugal international. (Sky Sports)
What next for Kompany?
After scoring a stunning winning goal for Manchester City against Leicester on Monday night, Vincent Kompany was asked about his future at the Etihad. The defender, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has ruled out retirement but hinted that he could move on if a new deal is not agreed. City’s skipper said: “I’m going to play football. I’m going to do exactly what I’ve done for as long as I can. If you talk about emotions, nothing is written in stone yet.” (Daily Mail)
Bale’s Real future in doubt
Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane refused to comment on Gareth Bale’s future at the club after dropping the Welsh forward for the clash against Villarreal. Quoted by Sky Sports, Zidane said: “I’m the coach, I have to pick the team and that’s all there is to it. You can interpret it as you wish. I need to pick a squad of players and some are going to miss out.” Linked with Manchester United, the Daily Mail reports that 29-year-old Bale wants to stay at Real but has been told he does not fit in Zidane’s plans.
Napoli eye Perez and Trippier
Italian club Napoli are being linked with moves for two Premier League players. The Northern Echo says the Serie A side are keen on Newcastle’s Spanish forward Ayoze Perez, while talkSPORT adds that Carlo Ancelotti has refused to rule out a move for Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier.
Battle for Fraser
Bournemouth’s hopes of keeping Ryan Fraser are fading. The Scotland winger is wanted by Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Newcastle. (Daily Mail)
