The Sunday Times says that Real head coach Zinedine Zidane has prioritised both deals and that in order to sign Pogba, the Spanish club could offer a number of players in exchange for the French World Cup winner.

De Ligt should choose Pep over Messi

Former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt should sign for Manchester City.

Dutch defender De Ligt has been linked with United and Barcelona, but the Manchester Evening News reports that Van Gaal has urged the 19-year-old to choose Premier League champions City.

Van Gaal told Fox Sports: “He could play at Barcelona, but he could play for Manchester City also, and in that case I would choose Pep Guardiola over Lionel Messi.”

City have midfield shortlist

Manchester City have drawn up a three-man shortlist as they seek a long-term replacement for midfielder Fernandinho. Atletico Madrid’s £60m-rated star Rodri is City’s No.1 target, but also on their list are Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele and Real Madrid’s Marcos Llorente. (Sky Sports)

Trippier to join Sarri in Turin?

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly told the Europa League winners that he wants to leave the club to join Italian champions Juventus. Sarri looks set to join the Turin giants within the next 48 hours, and on his wish list of new players is Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier. Manchester United are also keen on the 28-year-old Spurs defender. (Daily Express)

Tottenham Hotspur will back manager Mauricio Pochettino in the summer transfer market following their 2-0 loss in the Champions League final against Liverpool. Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has reportedly been offered a £175,000-a-week contract to sign for Manchester United, but it’s claimed that the Frenchman is “angling for a move to Liverpool instead”. (The Guardian)
