Today’s back pages: Wilfried Zaha told to get back to work and Andy Carroll’s in Toon
A round up of the sport headlines from UK newspapers on 9 August

Get back to work, Wilf
The Daily Mirror reports that Crystal Palace have told Wilfried Zaha to “get back to work” and forget about forcing an exit.
Ivorian forward Zaha saw a move to Everton fall through despite handing in a transfer request to the south London club.
There was “deadline day drama”, says The Daily Telegraph, with Zaha sent home from training to “calm down”.

With the European transfer window remaining open Zaha could still leave, but Palace chairman Steve Parish has told the player’s advisors they expect him to stay and there is no chance he will be sold.
Metro reports this morning that Chelsea could launch an £80m bid for Zaha in January if they can get their transfer ban overturned.
Carroll’s back in Toon
With its headline “I’m coming home” The Chronicle’s front page is dedicated to Andy Carroll’s return to Newcastle United.
Striker Carroll has moved back to his boyhood club on a free transfer. After signing a one-year deal he said: “It feels very good. My friends and family are here, and it’s the club that I support - it is home.”
“Oh, Carroll!” says the Daily Mail with the paper reporting that the injury-plagued 30-year-old is already facing a month on the sidelines.
The big kick-off
After 89 days the Premier League returns tonight with Liverpool taking on Norwich City at Anfield (8pm, live on Sky Sports).
Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off sees champions Manchester City travel to West Ham United. In Sunday’s big game Manchester United host Chelsea at Old Trafford.
