Vardy, De Bruyne, Barkley and Zouma in team of the week
Players from eight different teams make it into team of the week, which notched 11 goals over the weekend
Jamie Vardy stole the headlines this weekend as he broke Ruud van Nistelrooy's goalscoring record by netting for the 11th consecutive game against the Dutchman's old club, Manchester United.
But it was a weekend in which Man City were the only team in the top five to win and as a consequence they are now top of the table, ahead of Leicester on goal difference.
While Vardy notched his 14th goal of the season, other strikers fared less well. Harry Kane's hot streak came to an end against Chelsea, who left Diego Costa on the bench, but at least avoided another defeat.

The queue to see the physio will be even longer than usual at the Emirates, after Arsenal lost Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez to injury during their 1-1 draw with Norwich.
But who were the stars of the weekend? Here's The Week's pick of the experts' picks.
Goalkeeper:
Costel Pantilimon (Sunderland)
The Black Cats keeper kept a second clean sheet in as many weeks as Sunderland recorded a much-needed win over Stoke. The Romanian "was superb as the last line of defence this weekend" says the panel at website the Offside Rule, which notes that it was fitting his best save came during a minute's applause for former Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop who died recently.
Defence:
Patrick van Aanholt (Sunderland), Kurt Zouma (Chelsea), Toby Alderweireld (Spurs), Aleksander Kolarov (Manchester City)
Another Sunderland man makes the back four after scoring against Stoke. "The Dutch full-back has had a difficult time settling in at Sunderland but, under new manager Sam Allardyce, he appears to have found his form," says Garth Crooks of the BBC.
Zouma "barely put a foot wrong against an in-form Spurs side as Chelsea claimed a point at White Hart Lane", says Goal.com, and he also makes Harry Redknapp's team of the week in the Daily Telegraph.
One of his opponents on Sunday was Alderweireld who has been one of the signings of the season so far, says Sports Mole. "He made more clearances than any other player at White Hart Lane (15) and also won back possession five times for his side."
Kolarov also gets the nod, and impressed the team at ESPN. "A gorgeously finished goal in a 3-1 win over Southampton was just reward for another fine afternoon's harrying up and down the left flank, working in tandem with Raheem Sterling."
Midfield:
Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City), Yannick Bolasie, James McArthur (both Crystal Palace), Ross Barkley (Everton), Junior Stanislas (Bournemouth)
The Man City man was this week's top scorer on Fantasy Premier League with 16 points, thanks to a goal and two assists against Southampton. He makes several teams including that of the Daily Express.
The Crystal Palace duo of Bolasie and McArther are also popular choices. Bolasie "tormented the Toon on Saturday", says ESPN. "Two goals, a portfolio of trickery and an abundance of cutting edge showed exactly what he's capable of when on-song." McArthur also scored twice against Newcastle.
He is normally an "unsung hero", says Sports Mole, but this week "found his name all over the Sunday newspapers". They also make the Fantasy Premier League team.
Barkley of Everton scored yet again in a thriller against Bournemouth. "He had energy, an assist and a goal. He was quality," says Paul Mariner of ESPN. His late goal turned out not to be the winner but his "run of form is showing no signs of slowing down" says the Offside Rule.
That Barkley's goal turned out not to be the winner against Bournemouth was down to Stanislas who scored a dramatic last-gasp equaliser to go with an earlier strike that had made it 2-2.
"After the way Stanislas and his team-mates performed against Everton, the Cherries just might start believing that survival in the Premier League is a very real possibility," says Crooks of the BBC.
Attack:
Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)
He is out there on his own in terms of goalscoring and is the lone striker in this week's selection. "To score in 11 consecutive matches is an extraordinary achievement," says Garth Crooks of the BBC.
"Who else?" asks ESPN. To score in 11 straight games "is a mammoth effort for a player who was barely on the radar 18 months ago. His finish underlined his new clinical edge."
