Hazard, Fabregas, Martial and Moreno in team of the week

On a weekend of Premier League and FA Cup action, Leicester are a step closer to an incredible title win and Manchester United and Crystal Palace are gearing up for a date at Wembley next month.

League leaders the Foxes thrashed Swansea 4-0 to go eight points clear of Tottenham Hotspur, who play tonight, and Man City overtook Arsenal to go third in the table. Sunderland's draw with Arsenal lifts them out of the bottom three.

Elsewhere, there were injury time winners for both United, against Everton, and Palace, against Watford, as they booked their berth in the FA Cup final on 21 May.

But who were the stars of the weekend action? Here's The Week's pick of the experts picks.

Goalkeeper: David de Gea (Man Utd)

A penalty save at Wembley will always go down well, but the United keeper was inspired all afternoon against Everton. He "was once again crucial for United with a stunning display in the semi-final, keeping out [Romelu] Lukaku's penalty and making a string of brilliant stops", says Goal.com.

Defence: Alberto Moreno (Liverpool), Lamine Kone (Sunderland), Pablo Zabaleta (Man City), Danny Simpson (Leicester)

Liverpool may have thrown away a two-goal lead, but Moreno "had a fine game against Newcastle at Anfield", says ESPN. While his defending may sometimes be suspect, he registered two assists. ESPN were also impressed with Sunderland man Kone, who was a "monster" against Arsenal. "Kone won challenge after challenge, both in the air and on the ground, and meandered forward to add some muscle at set pieces."

Zabaleta came close to getting a red card as Man City thrashed Stoke, yet he still caught the eye of Garth Crooks of the BBC. The player "showed what an important asset he is when he brilliantly raided down the right and set up Kelechi Iheanacho for a tap-in", says the pundit.

The final place goes to Simpson, who was "typically calm and composed in the Leicester defence, barely putting a foot wrong to rack up yet another clean sheet", says Goal.com.

Midfield: Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea), Dusan Tadic (Southampton)

"Well, it's nice to see Eden Hazard has finally turned up this season," says the BBC's Crooks. After a miserable season, Hazard at last scored a Premier League goal on Saturday and "looked like the man Jose Mourinho said was the best young player in the world. The issue for Chelsea now is: can they keep the wolves from the door and retain Hazard's services?"

Another Chelsea midfielder "back to his best" was Fabregas, says ESPN. He scored twice and "demonstrated the range of ways in which he makes the Blues tick".

Saints midfielder Tadic also scored twice against Aston Villa. The opposition are "not exactly the Premier League's strongest team this year, but the Serbian put in a fantastic showing", says Goal.com.

Attack: Anthony Martial (Man Utd), Kelechi Iheanacho (Man City), Leonardo Ulloa (Leicester)

Young French striker Martial was in fine form against Everton and sent the fans into raptures with the winning shot that takes United to the FA Cup final. "This lad looked a bit special the moment he walked into Old Trafford last summer. In fact he looks as if he could be a Manchester United captain one day," says Garth Crooks.

Iheanacho scored twice against Stoke and is, on paper, the most efficient striker in Europe, with the best goals-to-minutes ratio, notes the Daily Telegraph. He is also the top Fantasy Premier League scorer this week with 16 points.

Leicester front man Ulloa stepped up to the plate Harry Redknapp of the Telegraph declared himself "so impressed". He says: "There was a lot of pressure on him filling in for Jamie Vardy but he was brilliant and thoroughly deserved his two goals."
