Man Utd transfer news: Marcus Rashford may leave ‘if Jose Mourinho stays’
United’s England striker is frustrated by the lack of playing time at Old Trafford
There’s a bombshell in the Daily Mirror which claims that Marcus Rashford “may leave Old Trafford if Jose Mourinho stays”.
The paper says the England striker is increasingly “frustrated” with life under Mourinho, having made only five starts in his last 16 games. Apparently the 20-year-old feels it’s holding back his progression and affecting his international career. He is now weighing up his options ahead of the summer.
The arrival in the last 12 months of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez has made life even harder for Rashford, and the Mirror says he’s become “disillusioned” with life as a bit-part player at Old Trafford.

The paper quotes a United insider as saying: “Marcus was really unhappy with being left out for the [Saturday] derby. If Mourinho is still there next season, Marcus might not be, as he wants to start every game.”
England manager Gareth Southgate has allegedly “privately expressed concern at Rashford’s lack of club starts this season” and his advice may be crucial in determining the young frontman’s future.
In February the Daily Express reported that Real Madrid were bookies’ favourites to sign Rashford should he leave Old Trafford.
