Champions Manchester City are close to sealing a deal for Mahrez and could also move for Mbappe
Premier League transfer news and rumours
Kylian Mbappe: Monaco to Manchester City
Premier League champions Manchester City may make a move for Kylian Mbappe if Paris Saint-Germain are “forced to abort their plan to sign him this summer”.
Mbappe moved from Monaco to PSG on a season-long loan last year with a view to completing a £127m permanent transfer. However, PSG could face a financial fair play (FFP) charge from Uefa and may have to abandon the deal for Mbappe or sell Brazil striker Neymar.

Riyad Mahrez: Leicester City to Manchester City
Manchester City are “close” to securing the transfer of Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian will cost City £75m and the deal could be confirmed by the end of the week. (Daily Mail)
Vardy to sign new Leicester deal
While Riyad Mahrez looks set to leave Leicester City, Jamie Vardy is on the verge of signing a new and improved contract with the Foxes. The 31-year-old England striker, who was recently linked with Spanish side Atletico Madrid, is in advanced talks with Leicester over a new £120,000-a-week contract that would keep him at the club until he’s 34. Barcelona eye Eriksen
Tottenham and Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen is being lined up by Barcelona in case the Spanish giants fail to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid. Barca are hopeful of signing Griezmann but Eriksen would make a strong alternative. (Sport.es)
Arsenal wanted Fabinho
One player who has secured an early transfer is Fabinho. The Brazilian has signed for Liverpool from Monaco for a reported £39m and will officially join the Anfield club on 1 July. It’s also reported that Arsenal made a late move for the midfielder before he signed with the losing Champions League finalists. (Sky Sports)
Nabil Fekir: Lyon to Liverpool
With deals completed for Fabinho and Naby Keita, Liverpool are now keen to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon. The French international, who is valued at £60m, tops Jurgen Klopp’s target list. The Reds could face competition from Chelsea for the Lyon captain. (Goal.com)
Khan: Sessegnon will stay at Fulham
Fulham owner Shahid Khan says star player Ryan Sessegnon will remain with the west London club now that they have achieved promotion to the Premier League. Fulham beat Aston Villa 1-0 in Saturday’s play-off final at Wembley and Khan said: “We don’t want Sessegnon leaving. I don’t think he wants to go. He’s going to be at Fulham for the coming year, leading us into the Premier League.” The 18-year-old has previously been linked with Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Tottenham consider move for Pulisic
If Ryan Sessegnon does stay at Fulham then Spurs will “switch their attention” to Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic. According to reports, the 19-year-old American international is also wanted by Liverpool and Chelsea. (The Daily Telegraph)
Monchi: no bids for Alisson
After Loris Karius’s nightmare performance in the Champions League final it’s been widely speculated that Liverpool will launch a move for Roma goalkeeper Alisson. Jurgen Klopp’s side are reportedly ready to make a £60m offer for the Brazilian but Roma chief Monchi says no bids have been received by the Italian club. (Daily Mirror)
‘Karius could move abroad’
Former England No.1 Robert Green believes Loris Karius could leave Liverpool and the Premier League “to help him get over his Champions League final mistakes”. The German, who is 24, gifted Real Madrid two goals in Saturday’s final in Kiev and was in tears after the match. Green said: “If he went back to Germany it would not be forgotten but there would be less of a spotlight. Moving out of the spotlight is no bad thing, just on a domestic level, going outside of the country where people would have been most interested in the game.” (BBC)
Napoli reject City offer for Jorginho
Manchester City will have to increase their offer if they want to sign Jorginho from Napoli. City’s bid of £39m was rejected by the Italians who want £52m for the midfielder. Chelsea are also keen on the 26-year-old. (Daily Mirror)
Sokratis Papastathopoulos: Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal
Unai Emery is set to make Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos his first signing as new Arsenal boss. The 29-year-old Greek centre-back is close to making a £16m move to the Emirates. (The Daily Telegraph)
