Will he stay or will he go? The future of Antoine Griezmann is still a mystery after the French frontman didn’t respond to demands from the media to reveal his decision on where he’ll be playing his club football next season.
But instead Griezmann wanted only to talk about his and France’s preparations for their opening game of the World Cup against Australia on Saturday. “Sorry but today is not the day,” replied the Atletico Madrid forward when asked about his future. “I know there’s a lot of expectation, but today is not the day [to speak about it].”

Describing himself as “focused on the World Cup”, Griezmann added: “I am happy and that’s the most important thing now. I’ve lived with this for three months and I am used to it, now I have to think about the World Cup.”
The MEN still holds out hope that Griezmann could move to Old Trafford next season, citing reports in the Spanish press last week that “claimed the 27-year-old is closer to a move to United than he is to Barcelona”.
The Sun, however, believes he will stay in Spain with French broadcaster Canal+ reporting recently that Atletico have pooled their financial resources to offer him a new deal that will make the Gallic goalscorer “the highest-paid player in the club’s history”.
France boss Didier Deschamps predicted earlier in the week that Griezmann will not be leaving La Liga, telling the French press that he “will remain in Spain”. But could that mean a move to Barcelona?
French daily L’Equipe believes not, saying that “more the time passes more a transfer to Barcelona seems unlikely”.
