Martial set for new United deal
Anthony Martial was expected to leave Manchester United this summer but various UK media outlets are reporting this morning that he is in talks with the club over a new long-term contract.
The forward’s agent recently said the 22-year-old was looking to leave Old Trafford “because of a lack of playing opportunities”, the BBC reports, but according to The Daily Telegraph he is now considering a new five-year deal.

United boss Jose Mourinho was open to letting Martial leave, however The Guardian adds that he is now backing the club’s offer to extend the Frenchman’s stay in Manchester.
Paul Pogba: Manchester United to Barcelona
Spanish publication Sport reports that Barcelona are confident of signing two of their three midfield targets next summer. Man Utd’s Paul Pogba, Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong and Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot are on the Barca shortlist.
Mane: United tried to sign me
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has revealed that Manchester United wanted to sign him in 2015. Playing for Southampton at the time, Mane said: “The wrong team wanted me - Manchester United! I spoke with [then United boss Louis] van Gaal, and they even made an offer. But for me it was not the right club.” (Daily Express)
Rose expects Spurs stay
When the European transfer window closes tomorrow, Danny Rose is expecting to still be a Tottenham player. The England left-back, who has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, said: “I’m not listening to the speculation about my future. If I’m here past Friday, which I’m expecting to be, I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve at the end of the season.” (Daily Mail)
Giroud will battle at Chelsea
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is ready to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for a place in the team. The French World Cup winner has been a sub in the opening three league matches under new boss Maurizio Sarri. (Daily Mirror)

Origi to leave Liverpool?
Belgian striker Divock Origi could leave Liverpool before tomorrow’s transfer deadline. However, if Origi stays at Anfield then Dominic Solanke could depart on loan. Rangers, managed by former Reds midfielder Steven Gerrard, are interested in Solanke. (Liverpool Echo)

When do the European transfer windows close?
The transfer deadline is tomorrow for Scotland, Germany, Russia, France and Spain. Scotland’s deadline is at midnight, while in Germany it’s 5pm, Russia 10pm and in France and Spain it’s 11pm. Portugal’s transfer window is open until 21 September.
