Man Utd’s low offer to Real Madrid meant Ronaldo move was a non-starter
Premier League transfer news and rumours
United contacted Real over Ronaldo
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Manchester United reportedly made a “formal call” to Real Madrid to enquire about re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
United were exploring the possibility of bringing the Portuguese star back to Old Trafford this summer but their “low offer meant the deal never came to pass”. Ronaldo, who left Real for Italian champions Juventus, also turned down potential moves to Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan, says Marca.
