Barca eye Morata
Alvaro Morata has not had the best of times since joining Chelsea in 2017 but it looks like the striker could be set for a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Spanish international has emerged as a “shock target” for Barcelona, says the Daily Mail, as the Catalans “search for reinforcements” in attack.

Luiz Suarez’s knee problem means Barca are short up front so could turn to former Real Madrid and Juventus man Morata. The Daily Mirror reports that the 25-year-old’s agents have been in contact with Barcelona about a January move.
Pogba still on Juve’s radar
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport Juventus want to re-sign former midfielder Paul Pogba for €80m (£72m) in the January transfer window. Juve sold Pogba to Manchester United for £92m in 2016. Meanwhile, The Daily Telegraph’s Alistair Tweedale believes it would be “best for everyone” if the Frenchman left United as he is “nothing like the player he was at Juventus”.
Asensio to replace Eriksen?
Tottenham are lining up a move for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio as a possible replacement for Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen. It was reported that Danish playmaker Eriksen is looking for a move abroad so Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino could turn to Spaniard Asensio. (The Sun)
Toure wants Prem return
Sky Sports reports that Yaya Toure believes he can still perform in the Premier League. The 35-year-old former Manchester City midfielder left Greek club Olympiakos yesterday after his contract was cancelled after just three months. The Guardian says that Crystal Palace or West Ham could be in interested.
Llorente back to Bilbao?
Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente wants to move back to former club Athletic Bilbao. Spaniard Llorente, 33, said: “If I have the opportunity and they come to talk to me, probably, yes, is the truth.” (London Evening Standard)
Silva in limbo
It’s reported that Leicester City boss Claude Puel wants to reduce his squad in January and one player who could be on their way out is Adrien Silva. The Portuguese midfielder’s Foxes future “remains in limbo”, the Leicester Mercury reports, and he could return to former club Sporting Lisbon on loan in January.
Real want January deal for Diaz
Real Madrid are keen on signing Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz for £10m in January despite the 19-year-old being available on a free transfer at the end of the season. (ESPN)
Sane feeling ‘at home’ with City
After scoring twice in last night’s 2-1 win against Hoffenheim in the Champions League Leroy Sane revealed it’s “possible” he will sign a new deal with Manchester City. Speaking to Sky Sports, the German winger said: “From the beginning, when I arrived here, I have been really happy. I enjoy playing with the coach and the players. They are all amazing but most importantly they are all amazing people and good characters. I have felt really at home here since day one and of course [signing an extension] is possible.”
