Spurs transfer news: Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Frenkie De Jong, David Brooks
It will cost Real Madrid a staggering £310m to sign England captain Kane
Tottenham are ready to let Real Madrid have star striker Harry Kane but only if they pay a massive £310m transfer fee.
The mind-blowing sum is what Spurs have set as an asking price for the England captain and goal machine, reports The Sun. The paper says that Kane is Real Madrid’s “main transfer target” this summer.

After their worst run of results in a generation, European champions Real are set to embark on a major makeover this summer. The Sun says they want Kane “to rejuvenate their team”.
Currently fifth in La Liga, Real realise that Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale are in the twilight of their careers, while summer signing Mariano Diaz has failed to live up to his billing.
Kane, who suffered what Mauricio Pochettino described as a “worrying” ankle injury in yesterday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, has in the past laughed off rumours linking him to Real, but this new offer could be a game-changer.
Dane in demand
The Sun also claims that Christian Eriksen is on Real’s wishlist and a £50m bid will be tabled at White Hart Lane at the end of the season.
Knowing that Spurs are strapped for cash after the construction of their new stadium, Real believe that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will accept the offer for the Dane in order to put some much-needed funds in the transfer kitty.
According to the Sun, Real want Spurs playmaker Eriksen “as a successor to Luka Modric”, the former Tottenham star who at 33 is not getting any younger.
Nine-figure sum
Confirming the story about the Dane, the Daily Express differs from the Sun in its reporting of Real’s interest in Eriksen vis-a-vis the transfer fee. The Express claims that Real president Florentino Perez is “willing to stump up £100m” for the 26-year-old in order to beat off competition from Barcelona.
Going for a Jong
As to who might replace Eriksen in the event of his departure to Madrid, the Express says that Ajax ace Frenkie De Jong has been identified as a face that would fit at the Lane.
Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have also been tailing the 21-year-old with Ligue 1 giants PSG “ready to hand over £67m”.
However, the Dutch media claim that De Jong would prefer a move to the more competitive Premier League.
Brooks looks good
Another midfielder on Tottenham’s radar is “Welsh wonder” David Brooks. According to WalesOnline, Spurs and Manchester United are both considering “mounting a £40m bid to secure his signature”.
Apparently the two clubs are “huge admirers” of the 21-year-old, who signed for Bournemouth in the summer from Sheffield United and has scored five goals for his new club.
The south coast outfit are desperate to keep the youngster. To that end they will “double his £1m-a-year wages at the Vitality Stadium with a £50,000-a-week deal”. But that might prove insufficient in the face of big money approaches from Spurs and United.
