Premier League transfer news: Rodriguez, Higuain, Eriksen, Isco, Ozil, Rojo
Arsenal target loan deal for James Rodriguez and a move to Madrid for Christian Eriksen is a ‘very real possibility’
Premier League transfer news and rumours
Rodriguez for £3m?
Arsenal boss Unai Emery said last week that the club could only afford to bring in players on loan and one star reportedly on their target list is James Rodriguez.
The Colombian attacker is currently 18 months into a two-year loan deal at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid but according to the Daily Mail he is out of favour with the German giants.

Bayern agreed an £11.5m fee to bring Rodriguez in on loan with the option to sign him permanently for £39.5m when the temporary deal expires this summer.
If Arsenal cover the £3m still left of the £11.5m loan fee to pay Madrid, The Guardian says that Bayern would “happily pack his bags for London”.
Ozil and Elneny to Italy
Arsenal want to sell Mesut Ozil to Inter Milan or Juventus. However, the German has “no intention of leaving”. Another Gunner who could be off to Italy is Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny. Roma are interested. (The Guardian)
Gunners will pay Ozil to leave
Arsenal may struggle to sell Mesut Ozil because of his £350,000-a-week salary but if a buyer is found they may subsidise his wages. (Daily Mirror)
Blues hope to seal Higuain deal
Chelsea remain in the hunt to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus, The Daily Telegraph reports, and hope to get a “green light” by the end of the week to make progress on the deal. Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juve. The London Evening Standard says that the Argentine striker has not told Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso that he wants to leave.
Eriksen deal likely for Real
According to reports in Spain Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen is “a long way from agreeing a new deal with Tottenham” and a move to Real Madrid is a “very real possibility”. (AS)
Rojo set to leave Old Trafford
Manchester United’s plans to strengthen their backline could see Marcos Rojo become the “first casualty” of their defensive overhaul. The Argentine is considered the “most expendable” of United’s five existing central defenders. (The Daily Telegraph)
Morata move in doubt
Atletico Madrid want to bring in Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata on loan but the La Liga club are not ready to commit buying the Spaniard outright or an a permanent deal in the summer. (Daily Mail)
Barca line up strikers
Alvaro Morata is also on a shortlist of attacking targets for Spanish giants Barcelona. The list includes Morata’s Chelsea team-mate Olivier Giroud, Girona’s Cristhian Stuani and Tottenham’s Fernando Llorente. (Marca)
City say no to Isco
Real Madrid star Isco is not a target for Premier League champions Manchester City. Boss Pep Guardiola won’t be making any signings in January and has “no interest” in the Spanish midfielder. (ESPN)
