Less than two years after the debut of Under the Dome, another Stephen King novel is heading to the small screen. The author's well-reviewed thriller 11/22/63 is set to become an "event series" on Hulu, written by Friday Night Lights' Bridget Carpenter and produced by Lost's J.J. Abrams.
11/22/63 follows a man who travels through a time portal and dedicates himself to preventing the assassination of John F. Kennedy. "If I ever wrote a book that cries out for long-form, event TV programming, 11/22/63 is it," said King.
The series will consist of nine episodes, which will likely cover the entirety of King's novel; Deadline adds that Hulu is "open to additional seasons, possibly focused on other historical events."
