Most Americans aren't too excited about the prospect of a Trump vs. Clinton race. Among likely voters, 52 percent say such a pairing would have them picking the lesser of two evils, finds a new Rasmussen poll. Among independents, that figure spikes to 64 percent.

For Democrats, however, the possibility of this race is generally good news: 53 percent of Democrats say they're excited at the idea, while only 42 percent view it as a lesser of two evils scenario. These perceptions may be affected by Clinton's consistent lead over Trump in national matchup polls, though that lead could well be negated by the electoral college system.
