Suspect in shooting of pastor in Idaho arrested at the White House

The man suspected of shooting a pastor in Idaho on Sunday was arrested Tuesday outside of the White House.
Sources say Kyle Odom, 30, was arrested after he threw "suspicious items" over the south fence, The Guardian reports. On Sunday, he allegedly shot Pastor Tim Remington outside of the Altar Church in Coeur d'Alene, then fled. Police said traffic cameras showed Odom traveled to the Spokane, Washington, area, and after he headed south, detectives lost his trail.
Remington was shot one day after he led the prayer at a campaign rally for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, and while police say there doesn't seem to be a link between his appearance and the shooting, "it does appear that this was a pre-planned attack," Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White said Monday. Remington has regained consciousness, and is talking with his family, a friend told reporters. Odom, a former Marine, has no criminal record but does have a history of mental illness, The Guardian reports. Several news stations in Spokane reported that they received letters allegedly from Odom, with KHQ sharing pages from the manifesto, including drawings of aliens, on Twitter.
