The Associated Press reported Monday night that Hillary Clinton has commitments from the number of delegates necessary to become the Democratic Party's presumptive presidential nominee. She also becomes the first woman to ever become the presumptive nominee of a major American political party. AP says it counted the pledged delegates Clinton won in primaries and caucuses and took a survey of superdelegates, and Clinton has more than the required 2,383 delegates. The nomination will be finalized in Philadelphia in July during the Democratic National Convention.
