LeBron James won't be playing for Team USA during this year's Olympics

LeBron James is celebrating his NBA Championship win by not playing in the Rio Olympics.
His agent, Rich Paul, told The Associated Press James let USA Basketball know on Thursday that he decided not to take part in the games this year. He's played in three consecutive Olympics, winning gold in 2008 and 2012, and is tied with David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs for most Olympic games played (24), USA Today reports.
James isn't the only high-profile player skipping this year's Olympics — Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, John Wall, Anthony Davis, and LaMarcus Aldridge also won't be participating. There's always hope James will make an appearance in the 2020 games in Tokyo — when they start, he'll only be 35.
