As the results of Britain's historic Brexit referendum roll in, the race is tighter than expected.

With 230 out of 382 authorities declaring their results, Remain currently has 8,905,682 votes and Leave has 9,382,378. At 2 a.m., betting switched for the first time in favor of Leave. Of the results counted so far, Scotland, London, and Northern Ireland are leaning towards Remain, while Wales, northeast England, southeast England, and northwest England (minus Liverpool) are tilting towards Leave, The Guardian reports. Turnout is currently at 71 percent, and the final results are expected to be announced on Friday morning.
