Colonel Mustard, the candlestick, and the Conservatory will soon be together again on the big screen.
The 1985 cult classic Clue, based on the whodunit board game of the same name that has players figuring out who killed Mr. Boddy, with which weapon, and in what room, is being remade by Fox, Variety reports. Hasbro Studios originally had a deal with Universal to make at least four feature films based on some of their most popular branded properties, including Clue, Monopoly, Ouija, Battleship, Magic: The Gathering, and Stretch Armstrong.
While 2012's Battleship lost money, 2014's Ouija made $103 million on a $5 million budget. The original Clue, starring Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Martin Mull, Michael McKean, and Lesley Ann Warren, wasn't all that successful when it came out, grossing less than $15 million, but it has picked up legions of fans over the past 30 years. For the remake, may we get the Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, and Mrs. Peacock that we deserve. Catherine Garcia
