Donald Trump says he and Hillary Clinton can get away with shooting people in public

"I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters," Republican Donald Trump said in January — and now, in an uncharacteristic show of nonpartisan graciousness, he has extended the public shooting privilege to his rival, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

"Because she's being so protected, she could walk into this arena right now and shoot someone with 20,000 people watching, right smack in the middle of the heart, and she wouldn't be prosecuted," Trump said of Clinton at a rally Friday night. "OK? That's what's happened. That's what's happened to our country." His comment referred to the Justice Department's decision not to prosecute Clinton for her unauthorized use of a private email server stored in a bathroom closet while secretary of state.
