Saturday Night Live must have sacrificed a goat to the gods of comedy or something, because at this point in the election the skits probably write themselves. Featuring Alec Baldwin in his second week as Donald Trump, the show opened Saturday with a combined spoof of Tuesday's vice presidential debate and Donald Trump's hot mic scandal.

After America's dad (a whiny Tim Kaine) argues with America's stepdad (an imperious Mike Pence), the sketch cuts to Trump making a live apology for his remarks — and once again failing to realize that even off-camera, his mic is still live. Watch the full clip below. Bonnie Kristian
