Mike Pence shoots down rumors he's ditching Donald Trump

Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence called rumors he's leaving Donald Trump's ticket "absolutely false" during a Monday morning interview on CNN's New Day. "It's the greatest honor of my life," Pence said about serving as Trump's running mate.
Rumors started swirling that Pence might be dumping Trump after he released a statement Saturday disavowing Trump's comments about women, saying he was "offended" by Trump's lewd language and that he couldn't defend the remarks. But by Monday, Pence seemed to have put indefensible behind him.
Before denying rumors of a split on CNN, Pence attempted to explain away the apparent divide between himself and Trump on the issue of Syria during an interview on Fox & Friends. Though Trump openly said at Sunday's presidential debate that he and Pence disagreed on how best to handle the situation, Pence said it was actually a misunderstanding caused by debate moderator Martha Raddatz. "Martha Raddatz just mischaracterized the statement that I made in my debate a week ago. I was asked a question about Aleppo," Pence said, and Raddatz "conflated" his response about Aleppo's humanitarian crisis into a "larger question about Russian provocation."
